Alek turned 4 and he celebrated a few times.  First he had a party in school.  No pictures from that, but it seemed to be thoroughly enjoyed.  Then there was the family party with some close friends, a more intimate affair.  And finally, the bowling party with all the friends.  It was a fine way to turn into a 4 year old by all accounts.

       
Owen discovered Alek's new fish tank with some fish and some snails!
We had a BIG chocolate cake.  Grandpa Roy even put on the old Party Animal hat to celebrate.

       
Then we opened presents.  The animal masks were a big hit.

   
Even Grandma and Grandpa got into the animal masks.

       
Not everyone has had the good fortune to hear Caroline's monkey imitations, but we got a good dose of them that night!
Kyle was impressed he tried out some tiger roars to go with his mask.

   
Kevin and Kyle ate up a storm and even watched the football game briefly.
All the kids wore their masks for quite a while that evening.

   
Alek decided that he was really a Flying Moose.  Not sure where he picked that up.
Later he put together his new T-Rex puzzle with a little help.


Bowling is fun when you have a few of your friends, or maybe even a dozen!

Some even kept track of the scoreboard.
While most eagerly awaited the arrival of the balls.  Very few scrunched fingers, we're happy to report.


Then it was time for pizza and cake.

   
And finally the singing and blowing out the candles. 
This was a nice way to turn 4.
