Alek cruised into this period with a lot of physical abilities. He
starts this period at about 29 pounds and tall enough to see the top of a
standard table. Lots of things are now within reach.
He has started to say two word phrases and seems to understand the rhythms of
his life and anticipates upcoming routine events. He's very social and
charms everyone that comes into contact with him. He continues to be a
very easy and delightful baby.
You can see Alek's first year of
pictures here.

Alek helps wash the bike. He likes to rinse everything - repeatedly!

Alek decided washing the bike is thirsty work.
I think he got as much water on himself as on the bike.
Mother's Day Weekend

Just in case you thought Alek never cries, here is evidence to the contrary.
In this case he was adamant about wanting something we couldn't figure out.

Grandma takes Alek for a stroll on the beach. But don't get too close with
that tissue.

Playing the sand is always a treat for this guy.

Alek had an interesting hair day. Actually, he rubbed yogurt in his hair
and the daycare people got a little crazy! That deserves a picture..

Alek & Kari had dinner together, but the pool was irresistible.
Alek never saw a ball that wasn't worth a toss.

Alek really liked the Rocking Pony.
Everybody really liked the meal and especially the strawberries with chocolate.
And the dinner wouldn't be complete without some lap time afterwards..

Alek and I relax one evening at home.

Alek and Grandma play with his bubbles on the patio.

Alek and I go swimming. Alek likes to go fast with lots of splashing if at
all possible.
There are lots more pictures on the Alek Swimming
page.

Alek plays on the beach at Zephyr Cove with Nancy.
Nancy remembers refreshments for those of us older than 21 months.

Alek tries the climbing wall. It's the first time he's tried such a
challenge. He didn't get to the top, but he got about half way.

Alek helps put together his new drawing easel. Hopefully it will keep the
markers off everything else - hopefully..
