So now we are well into the golden age of babyhood. Alek rolls over
with aplomb, can sit for long periods of time, and is starting to scoot along on
his tummy.

Alek got this shirt from his Great Uncle Bob and Great Aunt Verna.

Alek got this cute little outfit from "Aunt" Melanie.

Alek enjoyed his first picnic in the park. And I had my new
phone with
a camera to record some great expressions. Of course the expression of joy
had nothing to do with the music, and everything to do with a couple of cute
girls that he snared (one 6 and one 9 - he has "The Gift!").

Alek has breakfast on a Saturday morning in bed, our bed since Caroline can
sleep in on the weekend.

Alek went to the
beach for
the first time. Fortunately Auntie Mel was there to watch him for a while
as we played volleyball. Mel gave Alek his first volleyball lesson.
Basically it was about not putting the ball in your mouth because it wrecks the
leather..

Alek continues his foray into the world of silly hats. It's something his
mother is famous for and is trying to continue her tradition.

Mel taught Alek how to play Frisbee with a couple of different ones, and to
play with a beach ball. Alek found they are pretty tasty.

Caroline took this picture at Karen & Allen's now famous Osso Bucco dinner.
It was a fine feast, and a perfectly wonderful evening.

Alek is now about 9 ½ months old. He is still a
very happy baby, likes to make a lot of noise, and grown attached to a spoon.
He's a solid 22 lbs now.

Alek is 10 months 1 week in these pictures, and about 23 lbs. He has
learned how to stand up next to pretty much anything. He demonstrates this
new skill using the coffee table that Caroline protectively wrapped in designer
gray pipe insulation and bubble wrap.
You can clearly see Alek's lower teeth. Two new upper teeth have broken
through the gums and are on their way (thus the copious drool). Just like
last time, Alek doesn't seem to notice the teeth coming in. ..Sometimes
you just get lucky..
Alek has the distinction of being the loudest and most active guy in his daycare
class. What makes this particularly interesting is the fact that he's the
youngest, and the only one in the class that doesn't walk yet. He also
recently got his first "incident report", which means he racked himself up at
daycare and it showed. He had quite a knot on his forehead for a few days,
and a bright purple bruise on his chin that is taking much longer to heal.
But it didn't seem to slow him down much at all.

Alek went for his first inline skate ride. Well, he was in the carriage
and we skated. He definitely likes high speed and corners. You could
tell by all the happy sounds coming from him and the way he was holding onto his
hat.

You can just see the new top front teeth starting to show in this picture.
You probably need to click on it to see the larger image to actually see the
tooth coming in.

Alek went to his first pool party at Ray's house. He really likes the pool
a lot. He even does a bit of a doggy paddle.
Nancy makes him cheer, but I have no idea why.

Alek is such a puppy now. He even plays tug of war with Caroline.

We celebrated Gretchen's birthday, and got some good pictures in her backyard.
Alek is almost One now.
