We went to a number of parties this year, and Alek came along to all of them.
He has a pretty sizable fan club now so his presence would be missed.
These pictures represent a snippet of the happenings that occurred.
These pictures were chosen because they have interesting or humorous value - at
least to us..
We are very fortunate to be held in the warm embrace of so many wonderful
people, lots of whom are not pictured here. They are not here because I'm
not a great photographer, just a hobbyist that sometimes pushes the button at an
interesting moment.

Christmas With Caroline's Family
Alek was so thrilled about the presents and singing Christmas tree he broke out
in dance.
There were loads of presents opened.
Roy and David got to spend some time together.
Rich and the rest of us visited with Don.
Karen and her tribe posed for a family shot sans Rich.
Alek did a masterful job of being a perfect distraction while Janel tries out
her new DVD.
David & Monica enjoyed a moment on the beach.
Jeff does the beach as a full body experience.
Janel shows us how to burn off all that great food.
Then she's accompanied by Laura and Joey, the new puppy.
Alek waves from the locomotive at Dennis The Menace park where we spent some
time burning off some energy.
Alek was particularly partial to the slides.
Sarah was particularly enamored of this slide. Caroline and Alek liked it
too.
Alek tries the sliding bar with glee.
At the end a good drink of water from a fountain that is Lion-sized for the pee-wees.
Karen & Allan's Tree Trimming Party
Karen & Allan threw a party for a few friends and family.
Alek manned the phone briefly.
Karen strikes a pose with some of the babes that were on hand.
The Annual White Elephant Party
This is Caroline's favorite annual event. She shops for items that are
humorous and/or completely ridiculous throughput the year.
We run the party as a brunch, and
then the gift exchange. We had about 30 people join us this year.
Alek decided he had to wear his dinosaur costume for the event - I have no idea
why.
A few of our friends joined us for Caroline's favorite party of the year.
Gretchen and Bruce were well positioned with a large number - a great strategy
for this kind of gift exchange.
Caroline got another noisy plush toy - just what we needed!
Lisa got a really geeky thermometer - I wonder where that came from..?
Michael got nutcrackers, while Alek helped Olivia with her choice.
Naoko got some assistance from Alek for her gift choice. Come to think of
it, Alek helped just about everyone with their gift selection.
David got a perfectly useless something too.
Dan got an entertaining book.
Terrie got a gift that turned out to be Alek's favorite. Imagine a little
kid running around in a dinosaur costume with a chicken singing and dancing the
Chicken Dance song. Kinda' silly!!
I got a pair of ceramic sandals. Fortunately someone else decided they
couldn't bear to be without them - Who am I to stand in the way of material
bliss for someone else..?
Phil & Lisa's New Year's Eve Party
Lisa and Caroline were radiant that night. I don't know why but I'm sure
not complaining..
Alek was personifying a perpetual motion machine all night. Don't know why
that happened either. But he definitely is giving his mother a run for her
money in the staying up late department.
Phil was getting the word from Draha while other interesting conversations were
happening all around.
Whatever made Lisa and Caroline radiant and Alek unstoppable had a certain
effect on Ross and Chantal too.
June & Dave's Multi-Purpose Party
June & Dave threw a wonderfully delicious party to wind down the new year.
Alek thought the dinner was ..Thiiiissss Goooooooooddd!!
Brian's shirt says it all.
Mike got a R/C Copter, as did Phil and Brian.
Tet works on some of Dave's pain points.
Nancy is just the cutest little Elf there ever was..
Caroline decided that people couldn't figure out who was the little or big guy.
So now we're labeled.
