Mammoth 2005

We spent another delightful week at Mammoth this summer.  This time Alek was able to do a lot more exploring.

Alek spends some time throwing stones and sticks into Horseshoe Lake.
Then he found an overturned tree to climb.  Caroline gets a little nervous when he gets to the top.

We took Alek to the Trout Hatchery.  He fed the fish quite a bit.

Sometimes you just need to take Alek for a walk, like when he's bouncing off the furniture and everything else.  This was near the cabin where some flowers were in full bloom.
Alek found a grass strand to suck on, just the way his Grandpa Alan taught him.

Alek got a new T-shirt from Grandma.  It's all about wild friends so Alek decided to make a particularly wild face.

Alek found a new hat, and then a new way to wear it.  We call it his Wild Things-Pig Face.

True to form Caroline needs to stay in touch with all her email buddies.
Alek gets more traditional entertainment from his Grandma, when he's not watching his DVDs that is.

Alek says "One more time" to jump across the small stream of water out in front of the cabin.  Of course one more time was several times, and a few times right in the water, as all little boys do.

This is my attempt at being Audubon, without all those messy paints of course.  I guess I can say this camera is quite good.
This is the feeder off the edge of the porch at the cabin at dusk.

Alek and Caleb put some peanuts out for the last birds of the evening.

Dave and I went mountain biking from the top of Mammoth and it was blast.  Dave tested the softness of the pumice a few times.
Dave is putting hydrogen peroxide on his cuts and abrasions.  He made some funny faces..

As Dave was recuperating on the floor in front of the fireplace before dinner, Alek decided that a new game needed to be invented.  How many ridiculous ways could he think of to bug Dave..?
Alek's shirt is his own design created that afternoon at the craft fair.

Why does Dave have a mop on his head you ask??  So he can pretend to be a bear and scare the bejeezus out of Alek.  It kinda' worked.

Alek thought it was cool to have a bear around so he spent some time looking out the window hoping to see the "bear" again.

Alek passed out in the afternoon before we left.  He definitely sleeps like a baby regardless of what's going on around him.

Alek rallied later in the afternoon and played with Caleb and Gabrielle, two kids that were also visiting.  Playdoh was the game at the moment and "worms" were the favored commerce.
