We celebrated Roy's 80th birthday. And a great affair it
was!
About 60 of Roy's closest friends and family gathered to wish him well into
his next 80 years. We had lots of great feed, and Caroline put together a
terrific slide show in the style of "This Is Your Life". There were some
very misty eyes in the crowd by the end of the show. It was thoroughly
enjoyed by one and all.
If you want a copy of the slide show send a note to us. Its much too
large to leave on the web site for downloading.

Roy turned 80, a real milestone for anyone. But Roy is still quite spry
and active.

the slide show was projected on a screen at the front of the room.
Everyone paid rapt attention. There were more than a few people with
obvious emotional reactions to the show. It seemed to bring back a lot of
memories.
Even the little guys got into watching the slide show.

After the slide show three essays were read by Janel, Laura, and Jeff to
commemorate how strongly and fondly they feel towards their grandfather.
And some stamps with Roy's likeness were handed out too.

We had a delicious cake that completely disappeared. I guess it was a
really good cake!

We got almost everyone to get together for a group picture before we dispersed.
Of course we couldn't get Alek to sit still long enough to join the picture.
He was having too much fun running around with his new crew at the party.

Alek played many games at the party. But the favorite seemed to be "ashes
ashes, we all fall down!". He would swing with any kid he could find and
tumble around the floor, and then do it again. Fortunately there was a lot
of room for all the kids to run around, and they made great use of the space.
