Thanksgiving 2004

Thanksgiving was delicious and thoroughly enjoyable.  We got to spend a lot of time with the immediate and extended family.

Alek got to play with the mechanical doggie!  This one didn't give him any trouble.

Grandma took Alek out to play a little ball - Orange ball, so to speak.
Then Grandma showed Alek how to use the scooter.  He didn't master it this time, but he didn't do any bleeding either.

Alek spent a little time hoarding the orange and digging a hole.  Then he played house, or maybe his version of American Gothic.

Alek and I got up a little slowly this morning.
Caroline did get some well deserved rest in the afternoon.

A new puppy!  Everyone loves a new puppy - including Alek.  It's an Australian Shepherd named Joey.  Relax, I already made the cross species joke.
Alek had to figure out how to manage with an intrepid little being.

Alek played a lot of tug-of-war.  I think he learned it from the puppy.
Rich and Janel take a moment between feasts.

We went to the beach to catch up with Barb, John, and Adriana.  Alek really likes the beach.  He thoroughly enjoyed playing with Adriana, who helped him get over the rocks.

Alek "helped" Adriana build sand sculptures so much that all thoughts of having a little brother were completely vanquished.

Alek never met a puddle that he didn't to explore to the fullest extent.  That usually includes jumping in the puddle and sitting in it.

Then we went to Uncle Don's house to meet with the extended tribe.
Jeff tried the pool out and decided it was quite cold.
Alek tried the pool and thought it was cold too, especially with his clothes on.  But he got a kick out of running around in his diaper all the same.

The entire group at Don's house.
Ruthie and Anna reeled in the dog.
We got to see Rianna too.

Alek likes humus a whole lot!

Anna, Robert, and Sioban enjoyed the feast.

Alek likes to nibble on apples.  Don happens to have a Pippin tree in his backyard.
