Alek turned One with a perfect little party.
It was as intimate an affair as we could muster given Alek wide circle of
admirers. And then we proceeded to the Halloween partying.

Alek claps when inspired by others clapping, and sometimes just because he's
excited about something and remembers to do it.

Alek went to Rob's Halloween and Pumpkin Carving Party as a Monster in Training.
And then he morphed into a little pumpkin for the pumpkin judging part of the
party.

Alek spent some time hanging out before going to Nancy's Halloween party.
He tried on Roy's hat, and then donned those happening glasses again.

Alek went to the Bonny Doon Winery in his brand new shoes, sized extra wide -
what a surprise! He even walked
around a bit, with some help.

Alek shows off his new shoes while finishing up some breakfast. He has a
playdate later today and will be tromping around.

Alek spends a little time with his Grandpa.

Alek takes a call, but um, it's fer' you.

Alek shows off his traveling style complete with his favorite plush toy, and
in-flight food service.

Alek learned how to climb stairs. He's walking pretty well now. He's
thirteen months.

Alek snaps his fingers for service at Mike & Nancy's party. Okay, he
didn't snap them, but you know what he's asking for - A shirt that fits!
I got my new camera!! Caroline has gifted me with
a new Canon EOS Rebel! Things are very very good this holiday season!

Alek gets his first bottle upon arriving after daycare. He is about 14
months in these pictures.

Alek likes dinner! And he really likes ravioli with tomato sauce!

Alek likes to play while having dinner, especially when he's got a willing
audience, not just Mom..
After dinner Alek runs around the house and plays. In this case he was
disassembling his phone.

Alek is sixteen months old now. He's a little over 27 pounds and about 32"
tall.
We took Alek to a nearby schoolyard to play on the slide.

Alek liked the slide a lot.

The fixed swing is fun, when Mom helps you stay on.

Alek figured out how to get to the second rung, but the third is still a
challenge.

It was a fun time at the schoolyard, but now it's getting to be lunch time.

Alek loves olives. He especially likes to stick them on his fingers before
eating them.

He has his own technique which savors the olive for a while before munching it.

We took Alek to the park and he chased the Coots for a while.

There is nothing like a Grandpa and a good stick. You can take on
anything, even a tree!

And there was lots of sand to play in. And even a faux barge to steer.

Alek waits in the pits before the big race, donning his team June & Dave colors.

Alek heads to the starting line and gets his helmet from his crew chief and
mother.

After the race Alek poses with his trusty bike and orders a bottle of the house
white to celebrate.

We visited with Kathy and her kids. Alek played in the backyard gleefully.

Alek has learned how to jump. He can actually get both feet off the
ground. He demonstrated this skill for Kathy on her back porch.

Alek decided his Mommy wasn't paying enough attention to the lunch process and
let her know about it.
