Crash & Burn always has some sort of themed costume party. This year it was "Winter Olympics". The interpretation of that is left to the individual. Need I say more..? Here we have some examples of the creativity. A corporate sponsor, I'm not sure what type of skier and groupie?, and a Norwegian/Viking judge (with a rather un-PC rating system)... We had some skaters, well even a lot of skaters, and one brought her coach. We had the Jamaican (sort of) Bobsled team, the Canadian Curling Team representative, and a hockey player. This costume is not a costume, and we were all very unhappy to see it. But Tina seemed to enjoy the party all the same. We wish her a speedy recovery, in time for next year's trip. We had our media team who made sure all the interviews were held right after each event. In this case it seemed like they were mostly drinking events, but maybe drinking should become an Olympic event.. There were a lot of other costumes that pretty much escaped me. Thank goodness we had an American Curling Team representative to keep the Canadian one in line. The bobsled team made a terrific entrance, we had fans of all ages, and the Finnish Luge team was nicely turned out. Yours truly and my beloved, Caroline, didn't do a terrific job with the costumes. We were judges, that is until the Nordic hat put a spell on Caroline and turned her into a dancing maniac. You can see Caroline holding up a sign in one of the Limbo pictures. There was a conga line along with the dancing that seemed to make the rest of the patrons a little overwhelmed. There was a certain amount of very enthusiastic dancing.. Creativity is a hallmark of Crash & Burn. A curling broom can be transformed into a Limbo stick. I never knew that Limbo was an Olympic event, but you never know when a new demonstration sport will surface. Sometimes you just need a new braid or two to make that bobsled go. This was one of Eric's pictures that I scanned and mounted for him. |
